HomeBasedLearning

The Winstedt School will be following the MOE’s lead on home based learning. The Government announced this afternoon that non-essential workplaces will be closed on Tuesday, April 7th and MOE schools will be closed from Wednesday, April 8th.

In light of this announcement, The Winstedt School leadership team has decided on the following:

  • Students will not return to campus on Monday, April 6th.
  • Online remote learning will start on Tuesday, April 7th.
  • Students will return to the campus on Monday, May 4th.
  • Teachers will be expected to be in on Monday, as they make arrangements for the start of the Online Remote Learning Plan.

Please refer to previous communication sent out earlier this week and last week outlining the plan.

Teachers will be communicating with you through LMS and email to find out how the students are doing.

We will adapt and manage each child’s learning as we journey through the next month.

This will not be a holiday for the teachers nor for the students. Teachers will be spending a great deal of time working on ways to communicate and develop concepts through online learning. Effective communication between you, the teachers and the school, will be essential for each child to learn during this time.

We are living interesting times. Winstedt was previously known as Learn Different. We have always excelled at thinking out of the box and creating imaginative ways for our students to learn. We are flexible. If something doesn’t work, we change it. We don’t teach to a test, we teach to learn, to gain confidence and to enjoy learning. We will do the same even though we are not in the classroom with your child. We will work alongside you to make sure that your child is supported academically, socially and emotionally. Please reach out, so we can support you.

Take care of yourself and your loved ones,

With thanks,

The Winstedt School
