Head of Research & Learning
Bret is an experienced teacher and educational leader with over 15 years of working with and for neurodiverse students, and students with special educational needs. Bret came to Singapore from Florida, USA, where he was an instructional support specialist for students with dyslexia and a mathematics teacher for students with dyscalculia. Bret is passionate about experiential learning, problem-based learning, and teacher development. He believes a single teacher can change the life of a child and has dedicated himself to student success, no matter the challenge.
In his role as Head of Research & Learning, Bret is responsible for the collection, validation and application of quality academic data at Winstedt, from all faculty, students and alumni. He sets the pace and direction for curricula implementation, amongst other related work, with the overarching goal of promoting equity in education.
When Bret is not at Winstedt, he can most likely be found kayaking with his wife and dog around the islands of Singapore or, before COVID, surfing throughout Southeast Asia.
